Class Description

Learn tricks of the trade and delve into the world of dialect! This course is designed to familiarize students with a group of common accents and dialects, and to provide them with a set of exercises and resources for improving their skills in vocal transformation.
Class Outcomes:
  • Learn to produce a variety of accents including proper British, cockney, New York, Southern, German & others
  • Learn the importance of voice and dialect in creating a character
  • Learn the importance of breath and inflection in producing dialects.

James Wigdahl

James got involved with CYT as a student in 1982, appearing in many great character roles like Charlie Brown and Captain Hook. He began running sound for CCT productions in 1990, and teaching tech classes while showing kids how to run sound for CYT shows. James now lives in North County with his wife Jessica, where their two kids are students at CYT Tri-city, where James helps with tech for their shows. While serving on CYT's board of directors, James maintains a day job as an accomplished technologist and real estate investor.
