Class Description

This workshop is designed to provide the students of theatre with an overview of comedy including its various theatrical styles and respective acting techniques. Comedic genres covered include: farce, modern comedy, high comedy, slapstick, mime, satire, and melodrama.
Upon completion of this course, students will have experience in the following areas:
  • The “rules” of comedy
  • The difference between the different genres of comedy & their respective acting techniques
Note: there will be no class on December 18th, 25th, January 1st, February 19th.


Raymond Kazules

Raymond is a recent graduate from UC San Diego with a BA in Theatre Arts. He has acted in dozens of shows both in school and out, in places like SeaWorld, The San Diego County Fair, The Vine Theatre, and others. He has performed in several children's touring shows throughout San Diego during his time in school, and he is excited to get to work directly with kids once again! Raymond specializes in the art of Theatre Mime, character acting, and Comedy on the stage.
