What time is it? It’s time for you to sign up for our Musical Intensive Camp! This summer, 11-14 year olds will spend 2 weeks in intense vocal, acting, and dance rehearsals in order to mount the full 1-Act version of High School Musical 2! CYT favorite Directors will challenge these students to learn quickly while also having a blast! Is this camp going to be Fabulous? You can Bet On It.

Audition Info

Auditions will take place the first day of camp. There will be three types of auditions:

Each student must prepare a one minute song to sing for the Directing Team. Music must be on a phone or mp3 device. 

Actors will be given cold reads of scenes. 

Actors will be taught a dance that they will then perform in front of the directing team.

Intensive Camp FAQ's

What should we expect on the first day of camp? 
The fun starts right away! Follow the CYT signs to the check-in table where you will meet our Camp Staff and receive some important information regarding the week. Your camper will then jump right into auditions and rehearsal for our show!

What if my child is not old enough for the camp?
Campers must be at least 11 years old by the first day of camp to attend. There are no exceptions to this policy. 

Can I stay at camp or watch auditions?
No, CYT Camp is closed to parents and family members. Our staff has been trained and background checked in order to work with your children.  

How will I know who is in charge?
Our teachers and interns will all be wearing CYT Summer Camp shirts. 

What if my child has special or specific needs?
CYT openly welcomes all children. If your child is able to function in a group/class setting, but just needs a little extra help or attention - our counselors will work alongside them to make sure they have a phenomenal camp experience. Once registered, you will receive a form that allows you to explain any special or specific needs that your child has - the more info we have the better! That information is shared only with your child’s counselors so they can help your child have a fun and successful week of camp. If your child requires one-on-one attention and assistance we require a family member to stay with them at camp. CYT is unable to provide personal aides for campers. 

What's the dress code? 
We encourage comfortable dance friendly clothing each day. If a camper wears a dress or a skirt they must wear shorts underneath. We ask for no bare midriffs or visible undergarments. We ask for all campers to wear closed toed shoes with a back of some kind (no flip flops or heels). 

How do you handle allergies?
Please let us know of any allergies on your enrollment form. Our staff will be alerted to the allergy and maintain a high level of awareness. If there is a severe food allergy in the camp all of the families are alerted and asked not to bring in that food. During the camp week surfaces are wiped before and after eating, campers wash their hands before and after eating, and a Staff Member will sit with the child to ensure no allergen comes their way. Medication and directions can be left with the Camp Coordinator. 

Is there a nurse on staff?
We do not have a nurse on staff. However, each location has at least one certified first aid/CPR trained staff member.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?
Due to the extreme popularity of our camps, we do not offer refunds or cancellations for any reason except medical or family emergencies.

Can I sign up the first day of camp?
All of our registration is done online, so please check for availability. Many of our camps fill up so we encourage early registration. 

Is there a sibling discount?
Yes! The discount is $10 off of the cost of tuition. 

Who do I contact in case of emergency during camp?
On the first day of camp when you drop off your child, you will be provided the contact cell number of your area's Camp Administrator in case of an emergency.

Do you have to be a Christian to come to CYT?
No. CYT holds to Judeo-Christian values of family, community, leadership and positive encouragement. We welcome all kids of varying faiths, backgrounds and beliefs.
