Audition Sides

Please choose a side (a small selection from the Script chosen by the Artistic Team) to recite at your audition on Friday, January 3rd. You may choose any of the audition sides from the options given regardless of which role you wish to be considered for.

*The dance portion will be taught in-person at the dance audition on Saturday January 4th. We will not be posting a video of the dance routine ahead of time, but here are some Basic Dance Steps to know as you prepare for your audition.

Hair & Makeup

MAKEUP:
Please note that we have a very small hair and makeup team this show. 99% of their jobs will be doing wigs & specialty makeup! 
Unless otherwise noted, everyone is responsible for their own basic makeup looks and for the supplies to be brought to Sonrise and applied. The makeup and hair team can help with things like eyeliner and false lashes but come with your own and they can help apply if you can't find someone else to help you. Here is a list of the basic requirements for makeup. 
FELLAS: Base, cheek, neutral lip, eyeliner
LADIES:  Base, cheek, lip (neutral/pink colors unless your character is told otherwise), neutral eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara (as shown in example)

Costume Fitting & Headshot Schedule

Please look carefully and scroll all the way through to the scheduled time of your Show Headshot and Costume Fitting. The plan is to take your headshot first and then check in with Costumes. This is being held at the CYT Office: 1545 Pioneer Way, El Cajon. We ask that you arrive 5 minutes early.

Parents, We understand that you will be hanging out and watching as your student goes through this process. Please understand that the Artistic Team and Costume Team have a vision so please refrain from comments or questions. Final decisions will be made by these teams and we will follow up with notes regarding hair & makeup as well as socks/tights and shoes in the weeks to come. Thank you in advance for helping us with this.

WEAR- For headshots, your shirt must be a solid black T-Shirt. Please have your hair/makeup done nicely- no heavy make-up, we want you to look natural. For costumes you MUST be underdressed as girls will be changing in a dressing room together and boys will be changing together in another. 

BRING- Garment Bag to take your costume pieces home in. Costumes should remain on a hanger and not folded into a bag.

Strike Awards

Strike Awards will be given during the Strike Party on Saturday. Cast & Crew will nominate the Rose Award on Friday & Saturday with Robyn.

Tech Week Details

Tech week is required for all Cast & Crew and there are no excused absences.  Rehearsals are "closed" which means, unless Parents are there to Volunteer on their Parent Production Team, you are not allowed in the theater.  Please wear your Red Production T-Shirt when you are serving.

Bring- All costumes (in a garment bag), shoes, socks, tights etc. If you are unable to wear your undergarments to the theater, there are restrooms that you can change in.  Show bucket/bin should include your make-up, hair products and deodorant.

Food- We will NOT be selling any snacks or food.  Please bring plenty of water (we will have water bottles for sale if needed) and healthy food options.  All food containers should have your name on it.  You can bring a packed lunch or delivered by a family member.  No food delivery services are allowed.  There will be a table set up outside where you can leave your food and eat as you have breaks.  Please limit sugary items and pack healthy options.  Remember, you can pack items that contain nuts (peanut butter etc).

Arrival/Pick-UP - Tech week is 4:00 - 9:00pm at the Legacy Pavilion Center.  We realize that students may not get out of school until 3:30ish and therefore, will be late to the theater.  Please prep ahead of time by having your food packed and your costumes in the car so you can eliminate any delays so you can come straight to the theater. Students will arrive and be picked-up at the same door to the theater.  There will be signage outside to direct you where to go.

Worship Songs & Playlists

Every Saturday, we will start rehearsal at 8:30am with a time of worship and a quick devotional. Below is the list of worship songs we will be cycling through, along with links to Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube playlists of all 8 songs so that your students can listen to them throughout their week! 

Reseller Account Set-Up: Quick Guide

Here is a quick step-by step guide on how to setup your Family Re-Seller Account.  Once you have selected which option you want, it can NOT be undone so make sure it is setup exactly how you want to resell tickets.  Remember, patrons who purchase through your link or by "paying you back", the tickets are $18.00 each.

Snacks & Merch

We will have snacks and water bottles for sale and they are $1.00 each.  There will be some additional hot food items (ramen, Mac n Cheese, Hot Pockets and Uncrustables) available for $2.00 each. We will also have a few merchandise items.

You can purchase a CYT Gift Card and put any amount on that card for your student to use.  We accept cash and cards.  You can add funds to an existing card at drop off for rehearsals. You can check your balance as needed with the provided link but there is no feature to add funds online at this time.

No Phone Zone

In an effort to keep students safe and to eliminate distraction, CYT is a no phone zone.  If you wish for your child to have a phone so they can get ahold of you if needed, students will be able to leave them with our Admin Leadership, in our No Phone Zone pouches and can come use it with adult supervision as needed.

Activities such as Board Games are provided by CYT in an effort to provide safe and engaging activities during any downtime. 

Dress Code

Please abide by the following guidelines for CYT Programming. If a student arrives wearing clothes that do not align with our dress code, we will ask them to call home so parents can bring them a change of clothes.
  • Shirts must cover midriff when raising arms and must not reveal cleavage or have violent graphics. No cut off shirts allowed. 
  • Shorts must be a modest length. No short dance shorts. Shirts must not be longer than the length of the shorts.
  • Shoes must be comfortable to dance in.
  • If wearing a dress or skirt, please wear shorts underneath for choreography.

Frozen Show Shirt

All Cast Members will be receiving a show T-Shirt.  Parents, you can order and purchase one for yourself or any family member.  We will also be offering Sweatshirts for purchase (they have a hood and front pouch).  You can pre-purchase these items through your Family Account (after you log in, the left menu you will see Purchase).

Production Items For Purchase

The following items are available for purchase in your family account.  Select Purchase on the left column of your Dashboard and then For Purchase tab should be open along the top.  These are not required (with the exception of the Production Fee) but available should you wish. They must be purchased BY the purchase date. They will no longer be available once that day has past.

Purchase Due By: Sunday, January 12th 11:00pm
  • Additional Show Shirt and/or Sweatshirt- Each cast member receives a show shirt. If you would like to purchase an additional show shirt for another family member, or purchase anyone in your family a hooded sweatshirt (cast members do NOT receive one unless you purchase) these are available for pre-purchase only. We do not purchase extra. We will let you know when the order has arrived and they will be available to pick up at rehearsal.
Purchase Due By: Sunday, February 16th 11:00pm
  • Production Fee- This is in your family account and you can add to your shopping cart. These were split into 6- $50 transactions so you can pay over time. Final payment is due on this date. If there are siblings in the cast, the 2nd student receives $25 off of the production fee and the 3rd sibling receives $50 off. This should already be reflected in your family account. If something does not look correct, please reach out to the Show Coordinator.
  • Additional RED Parent Production Team T-Shirt or Sweatshirt- when you are cleared to Volunteer with CYT, you are given a red Parent Production Team T-Shirt to be worn when you serve. If you wish, you can purchase additional T-Shirts or a sweatshirt.
  • Frozen Playbill- Our program is a digital Playbill that patrons can access on their phone. We will custom print these as a keepsake and must be pre-ordered. These will be ready to give you the weekend of the production.
  • Show Charm- pictured (combination of the 2) to the right is our show charm. Families like to purchase the show charm each production their student is in for either a keepsake charm bracelet/necklace for the student or the parent. These will be available for you to pick up at the 2nd Parent Meeting.
  • Additional Congrat Ad- Each student is allowed a free, 25 word Congrat Ad that you must submit by this date to be put in the program. You can also purchase and submit an ADDITIONAL Congrat Ad and include a photo with your submission.

  • Crew Sweatshirt- Crew members are given a Crew T-Shirt to wear at each performance. Sweatshirts are available to purchase if they wish.
  • Artistic Team Gift- this goes towards the purchase of a gift for each Artistic Team Member.  Select the amount that you wish to purchase.  This is always such a blessing to the members of the team. You can certainly do something on your own. They love to receive cards and notes from the families.
  • Raffle Basket Donation- you can help us contribute to our Raffle Baskets by donating a monetary gift. We have themed each of the baskets and we welcome donations of items that can go directly in the baskets as well. Contact robyn@cytsandiego with any questions.
  • Strike Meal- These can be purchased for cast, crew and family members to have provided at the strike party between shows on Saturday. This is optional as you can provide your own food.

Parent Production Team Info

Once the National Background Check & LiveScan report have been received, you have completed the Child Safety Training and submitted the Certificate and all Forms, you will receive our Production Team t-shirt.  All Volunteers wear these while they are serving as it communicates to other parents, students and staff that you are cleared to serve.

*Additional Production Team T-Shirts are available for purchase in your Family Account for $10.  Please select which size you are ordering.  Only individuals who have completed the LiveScan & Child Safety Training will be able to receive the T-shirt.

We are now offering Production Team SWEATSHIRTS! You can also order these for $35.00 in your Family Account.

If you are unsure if you have been cleared to serve or if we still need anything from you, please click the "Volunteer Status" button and you will be able to see where you are at in this process. If it says NOT CLEARED- STILL NEED ITEMS, this means we have received SOME of your information but not all. If it is BLANK, this means you have not submitted anything at all and we are waiting for you to begin the process. This information will be updated periodically.

Most Teams are volunteering the week of Tech Rehearsal and throughout the Show. You will need to choose 2-3 shows to serve at and 1-2 shows to attend (watch in the audience). You will need to choose between opening and closing show as one of your ticketing times to watch.
