Brittany Lindsay | Director

Brittany began her CYT career almost 30 years ago as an Our Gang student, was in over 20 CYT productions, and has taught CYT classes. She currently teaches at an Arts school in East County where she directs a show choir, as well as the spring musical. Brittany is thrilled to return to CYT as a Director. CYT has always held a special place in her heart, and she is looking forward to acting, singing and dancing with amazing CYT students!

Janie d'Avignon | Musical Director

Janie is glad to be a part of Shrek. She is a credentialed music teacher, private voice instructor and a former adjunct professor at SDCC. She has taught in the CUSSD and with CYT/CCT for over thirty eight years and has musically directed over seventy shows including twelve years with Traditions of Christmas. Janie’s passion is singing and back in the day, her acting roles included Maria Von Trapp, Hodel, Guenevere, Marian Paroo, Glinda, Anna Leonowens, Irene Malloy and Marmie from Little Women. Most recently she appeared in Mary Poppins on Mt. Helix. But her favorite role of all time is wife to Chris and Mom to her grown kids, Angella and Aleks. Janie thanks God for the music!

Via Pietila | Choreographer

Via grew up in the theater and dance world and has been in many productions. She loves everything about theater, but dance is definitely her favorite! Via still pursues acting and musical theater- auditioning for film and Broadway. She has always looked up to her CYT teachers, and she is so excited to now be one of them! 

Emerson Powell | Intern

Emerson has only been a part of CYT since 2021 but has loved every second of it! She’s loved performing all her life and hopes to continue to find more opportunities to be on stage. She’s so excited to step into a new role at CYT in this upcoming production. She’s excited to help grow students confidence as they step out on stage!
