Description

THEME: Moana

Set sail on an unforgettable musical adventure inspired by the songs, characters, and spirit of Moana! In this Musical Theater Adventure Calls class, students will combine singing, dancing, and acting as they explore the power of courage, teamwork, and discovering who they are through the magic of musical theater.

Performers will build skills in vocal technique, musical theater dance, character development, and ensemble storytelling while bringing the vibrant world of Motunui to life. Through vocal warm-ups, choreography, theater games, scene work, and collaborative performance exercises, students will learn how music, movement, and acting work together to tell an engaging story.

As they rehearse and perform a musical theater number inspired by Moana, students will strengthen their confidence, stage presence, musicality, and performance skills while learning the importance of supporting one another as an ensemble. Whether you're stepping on stage for the first time or looking to grow as a performer, this class offers an exciting journey filled with adventure, imagination, and the joy of telling stories through song.

Sarah Larson

Sarah is excited to join CYT, where she can combine her love for the arts with her passion for children. With a rich background in community theater, choir, show choir, dance, and scenic art, she has always been deeply immersed in the performing arts. Sarah has taught in various classroom settings, bringing valuable teaching skills and a love for creativity to her theater classes. Sarah believes that art, music, and theater are gifts from a beautiful and creative God, and through these arts, we get to experience a glimpse of His character. She is passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where all students can more fully step into the creative person God has designed them to be.

Location Notes:

Classes are located throughout the building in partnership with The Rock Academy. Families will check in at the Lobby and students will be escorted by Teaching Artists and Staff to their classroom(s).
