MUSICAL THEATER FOR TEENS: BEE YOURSELF
THEME: 🐝 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE

This musical theater class combines voice, movement, and acting with a focus on character-driven storytelling and comedic timing. Students will explore how specificity, intention, and connection bring musical theatre to life while developing vocal skills, expressive movement, and authentic character choices.

Classes will include warm-ups, acting and improvisation exercises, focused movement work, and ensemble performance practice. Students will work together to learn and perform a musical theater number from beginning to end, strengthening confidence, focus, stage presence, and collaborative skills. This class is welcoming to beginners while offering advanced students opportunities to refine comedic performance and nuanced storytelling.

Registration Closes on March 23rd

Christine Callaway

Christine Callaway loves musical theatre and has directed and performed in over 50 productions. She is no stranger to the classroom as this is her 11th year teaching. She has taught all different age ranges from kindergarten to high school but currently is the Middle School theatre teacher at La Mesa Arts Academy. Some of her favorite productions she has directed have included Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Moana Jr, A Midsummer Nights Dream and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.
