In this energetic dance class, students will learn the fundamentals of swing dance, developing rhythm, coordination, footwork, and the art of dancing with a partner. From foundational steps and classic patterns to turns, transitions, and playful musical accents, performers will discover how to move together with confidence, connection, and style.

Students will build their dance skills through guided instruction, partner exercises, and upbeat music that makes it hard to stand still. Along the way, they'll develop musicality, spatial awareness, and the ability to lead or follow while working collaboratively with different partners. Whether you're brand new to partner dance or ready to add another style to your repertoire, come learn the steps, embrace the rhythm, and have some fun on the dance floor!

Alyssa is a passionate dance educator, performer, and choreographer with over a decade of experience in the performing arts. She began dancing at a young age and has had the opportunity to perform with organizations including Sesame Place San Diego and SeaWorld, as well as perform and assist choreograph for stage productions such as Inspire’s Tarzan. Alyssa’s teaching philosophy centers around building confidence, encouraging creativity, and helping each student grow both technically and artistically. She strives to create a positive, inspiring environment where dancers feel supported, challenged, and empowered to share their unique talents.
