CYT shows are appropriate for the entire family and are an excellent way to introduce children to the arts! CYT San Diego produces Broadway-style musicals every Fall, Winter, and Spring. Enrollment in CYT classes provides students ages 8-17 the opportunity to audition for a current production. Students not cast in the show are encouraged to participate in other ways. Depending on age and ability, students (and siblings) can participate on the backstage crew, technical team, or on the costume and makeup committees.

After much thought and prayer, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat due to lower-than-expected audition signups.

While we were excited about the possibilities this production offered, we believe in producing theater that reflects the passion and strength of our community. We’ve chosen to pause and refocus our efforts.
This is not the end—just a redirection. We remain committed to producing inspiring, excellent theater that brings people together and celebrates the gifts God has given our community.
Something new is on the horizon as a new chapter begins.

For three decades, our warehouse has been the heartbeat of CYT San Diego — a space where sets were built, costumes were crafted, and dreams took shape. But seasons change, and now, we step boldly into a new one.

We’re thrilled to announce that CYT is moving into a dedicated warehouse, office, and theater space where creativity will flourish like never before. This is more than a move. It’s a transformation. A vision for the past 45 years in the making is finally becoming reality: the CYT Arts Factory.

To bring this dream to life, we’re redirecting our energy and resources into this critical transition. As a result, we won’t be producing a show during this summer — not out of retreat, but in preparation for an extraordinary future. We're building a place where students will learn, artists will grow, and families will gather for generations to come.
